CHIMPAZEES ALSO DO COUPE

A gang of four chimpanzees attacked and killed their leader Pimu (pictured) in October 2011 - a rare event that provides insight into the group structure of our closes relatives. Researchers have since investigated the incident, which was captured on film, and believe the absence of neighbouring chimps meant the group wasn't worried about outside threats, and were willing to kill their strongest male in order to mate with more females.
